Ricoh have announced the new Ricoh G600 - a new waterproof 10 megapixel digital camera - it features a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens (28-140mm), 2.7″ screen, 1cm macro mode, ISO upto 3200, digital image stabilisation, 360 shot battery life and a waterproof (1m depth), dustproof, freezeproof (to -10 C) and shockproof (1.5m) body. The camera will be availble in May for £349:

The G600 is smaller and lighter yet it still passes Ricoh‘s shock resistance test for a 1.5 m fall, a test that conforms to US Department of Defence standards. In addition to the 5x optical wide-angle zoom lens (equivalent to 28-140 mm for a 35 mm camera), the G600 continues to provide the same strong set of features as previous models, such as a 1 cm macro function and a ?ash range of 10 m.
