Photography BLOG have reviewed the new Canon Digital IXUS 870 IS - a compact 10 megapixel camera it features a 4x wide-angle optical zoom, optical IS, 3.0” screen, VGA video recording, and is available in silver or gold for £186:
“The Canon Digital IXUS 870 IS / PowerShot SD880 IS Digital ELPH is probably the best-designed IXUS to date, both in the aesthetic and the functional sense. While our recent encounter with the Canon PowerShot E1 IS has convinced us that it’s hard to be stylish on the cheap, there is no denying that the object of this present review is a major knock-out in the style department, even at a 40-50% price premium over the cheaper model.”

Megapixel.net have reviewed the new Nikon D60 Digital SLR - an update to the D40x - it features a new dust reduction system, Eye-Sensor, a 10 megapixel sensor, 3fps shooting, takes SD cards, 520 shots battery life, 2.5″ screen, however still has the same limitations, in that it doesn’t feature exposure braketing, and requires AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR lenses. However, one of the main benefits of the D60 is that it’s now available with a new Nikkor AF-S 18-55 DX II VR lens for only £329.
“While advertising campaigns tend to exagerate the merits of the products they tout, Nikon’s campaign around its D60 digital SLR is right on target when it conveys how easy it is to take great pictures with this camera. It has excellent optics and its exposure and focusing systems insure that even newcomers to the mirrorshooter fold can snap high quality images with a minimum of effort.”
