Megapixel.net have reviewed the new Nikon D60 Digital SLR - an update to the D40x - it features a new dust reduction system, Eye-Sensor, a 10 megapixel sensor, 3fps shooting, takes SD cards, 520 shots battery life, 2.5″ screen, however still has the same limitations, in that it doesn’t feature exposure braketing, and requires AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR lenses. However, one of the main benefits of the D60 is that it’s now available with a new Nikkor AF-S 18-55 DX II VR lens for only £329.
“While advertising campaigns tend to exagerate the merits of the products they tout, Nikon’s campaign around its D60 digital SLR is right on target when it conveys how easy it is to take great pictures with this camera. It has excellent optics and its exposure and focusing systems insure that even newcomers to the mirrorshooter fold can snap high quality images with a minimum of effort.”

Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new 13.5 megapixel Nikon Coolpix P6000 - it features a wide angle 4x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, a 2.7″ screen, RAW support, manual controls, external flash support, manual focus, GPS support, and an optical viewfinder. The camera is available for £324
“The P6000 is an impressive camera, with superb build quality, a great range of features, decent performance and excellent image quality. It’s the strongest contender yet in Nikon’s semi-pro P series. It’s not quite strong enough to take on the Canon G10, but it does come in a decent second, and the additional feature of the built-in Geotagging GPS system will appeal to those looking for a robust high-quality travel camera.”
