Gizmodo have reviewed the new Panasonic G1 Micro Digital SLR - based on the micro four thirds system - It features Full-time Live View both for LCD and LVF, 12-megapixel Live MOS sensor, new smaller LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm MEGA O.I.S. lens, Dust reduction system and tilting 3″ screen. It will also be available in three colours for £499
“I’m optimistic about Micro Four Thirds, but there’s just no reason anyone should purchase a G1. Less money could get you a real DSLR that’s, for all practical purposes, the same size. The G1’s digital viewfinder is excellent, but it’s no comparison to looking at the real world as you shoot. Factor in the G1’s relatively poor high-ISO performance and little lens selection and it’s a no brainer.”

ByThom have reviewed the new 14.7 megapixel Canon Powershot G10 and compared it to the Nikon Coolpix P6000 and Panasonic Lumix LX3. The G10 is an update to the G9 - it features a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation, RAW support, 3″ screen, VGA video recording and ISO1600. The Canon G10 is available for £372:
“Unfortunately, no single camera quite hits the nail fully on the head. For my mark, the Canon comes the closest for my types of use, though the Panasonic provides capabilities that I sometimes need and stays in the bag, too. The Nikon will get sold off and I will go back to waiting for Nikon to design a decent compact.”

DCResource have reviewed the new Panasonic G1 Micro Digital SLR - based on the micro four thirds system - It features Full-time Live View both for LCD and LVF, 12-megapixel Live MOS sensor, new smaller LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm MEGA O.I.S. lens, Dust reduction system and tilting 3″ screen. It will also be available in three colours for £567
“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 is the smallest interchangeable lens camera in the world. It might be the first of a absolutely new design of cameras (Micro FourThirds), but you’d never know it. Panasonic has done a superb job with the G1 in nearly all respects. It produces very good quality pictures, offers an unmatched live view shooting experience, and has a nice collection of both automatic and manual controls.”

DPInterface have reviewed the new Panasonic Lumic DMC-FS3 and FS5 - the cameras feature an 8 or 10 megapixel sensor, 3x or 4x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation, and 2.5″ screen. The FS3 is available for £99, and the FS5 is available for £129:
“The compact little Panasonic Lumix FS3 and FS5 cameras are two which have much to offer with their small designs, nice point-and-shoot operation and great performance. Set aside their minor differences, both cameras have features which casual picture takers will appreciate: optical image stabilization, face detection that works (if shooting head on) and a nicely viewable 2.5 inch LCD.”

Cameras.co.uk have reviewed the new Panasonic Lumix FX150 - a new 14.7 megapixel digital camera - it features a 28mm Wide Angle 3.6x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, Intelligent Auto Mode with AF Tracking, Simple Manual Operation, up to ISO1600 at Full Resolution, and a 2.7″ screen. It is available in silver or black for £257.
“This is a good all round camera. Looking at the basic spec you may consider the lens to lack zoom capacity, but even this can be turned around if you shoot at lower resolutions. With 14.7 megapixels available you certainly have plenty of scope to do so. Picture quality is good and there are some useful extra features you’ll struggle to find elsewhere.”
