After weeks of speculative rumors across the net, Canon has finally launched the much anticipated EOS 50D, an upgraded version of EOS 40D. On the surface it looks almost similar to its predecessor. However, there are quite a few significant improvements; It features an APS-C sized 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor for tremendous images, new DIGIC 4 Image Processor for fine detail and superior color reproduction, and improved ISO abilities up to 12800. The EOS 50D delivers unparalleled speed and resolution at a price point that’s one-of-a-kind in this day’s market. The digital SLR camera is scheduled for October delivery and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated selling price of $1,399 USD. [DPReview]
